PERFECT BLUE - Virgin Viewings podcast review out now

This week Layla gives Richee his Virgin Viewings of the 1997 Satoshi Kon anime classic Perfect Blue. With scenes that meld into one another and a twisting, unsettling story, we witness former pop idol Mima transition to becoming an actress in this realistic animation. With gory scenes and unnerving characters, Perfect Blue is most successful in its contrast between reality and fiction and the horror when those two worlds are at odds with one another, along with its vivid and visceral experience of going through that process yourself as you watch it.
