Richees Top 5 Hated Films I Like

Well I did my five loved films I didn't like, time to switch it up with five hated films I like. Again, the list is in no particular order, just random. Got a couple of podcasts and a blog if you wanna get more info on three of the films but unfortunately not the other two.

5. Grimsby - Grimsby, or the The Brothers Grimsby, dropped last year and got murdered by a lot of the podcast reviews I listened too. For me though, this film actually brought me to tears with laughter at one point, which put it up there in my opinion. The film was crass and stupid but it did it's job as a comedy. This film hasn't got too bad a rating on IMDb with a 6.2, but got 36% on Rotten Tomatoes. (Podcast review here).

4. Death Note - Out recently, this Netflix original got a lot of flack from fans of the original anime, understandably, as it changed a lot. Throw in the whole white-washing issues and you got a film with a lot of problems before you even start watching it. But I enjoyed it. I liked the fact they made Light a more likeable character. The effects weren't terrible either and I liked the way the story went. But I was in the minority here as it scored 4.6 on IMDb and 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. (Review here)

3. Grown Ups - The film that started the slide into absolute shoddy Adam Sandler films. That being said though, I really enjoyed Grown Ups. It was good to see Sandler having fun with this movie, with all his friends, in what I thought was a stupid enjoyable film. It was probably a bit too much fun though, as all his films feel like crap versions of Grown Ups nowadays. The film has a pretty respectable score of 6 on IMDb but a terrible 10% on Rotten Tomatoes

2. The Thing (prequel) - So I love The Thing, the original that is, and when this prequel got announced I was more then worried. But when I finally got around to watching it I was pleasantly surprised. I was put off by all the hate so didn't go to the cinema. But upon watching I found I really enjoyed it, but I did hate all the CGI and the ending was weak. Other then that the story was solid and had a great set up with all the little details from the original. It scored a 6.2 on IMDb but only 35% on Rotten Tomatoes.

1. Zoolander 2 - What did I miss here? I enjoyed the sequel. It wasn't as good as the original but it felt like a quality sequel at least. But no, this film got slammed, and I just don't know why. It had amusing jokes and an over the top story. But it seems the shoe horning of multiple celebrity cameo's didn't go down well, but other then that I'm stumped. The film scored 4.7 on IMDb and 23% on Rotten Tomatoes. (Podcast review here)

Well that's my list, my guilty pleasures as it were. Are there any films you seem alone in liking? let us know in the comments and thanks for reading. Richee
