HALLOWEEN HORROR: The Mummy (1932) and The Invisible Man (1933) podcast reviews out now

We carry on with our Halloween Horror special look at the Universal Monsters this month with Karl Freund's 1932 hit The Mummy and James Whale's 1933 adaption of H.G. Wells' The Invisible Man. Starring Boris Karloff as Imhotep and Zita Johann as his reincarnated lover, The Mummy utilises some of the best make-up effects ever created by the legendary Jack Pierce. The Invisible Man, starring Claude Rains and Gloria Stewart, sets the bar higher with its special effects and disturbing mix of comedy and horror. We also look into these films modern remakes, as parts of the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe, which will include Sofia Boutella as The Mummy, Russell Crowe as Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde, Johnny Depp as The Invisible Man, and Tom Cruise popping up somewhere too.
