DVD Roundup: Late Cretaceous edition

Well, we all knew this film was gonna be big, but Jurassic World went on to become the third highest grossing film ever, making over $1.6 billion, with it making $500 million alone on its opening weekend. If this proves anything, its that people still love dinosaurs wrecking shit. While nothing like the incredible 1993 Steven Spielberg directed Jurassic Park (can anything beat that film?), Jurassic Park provided some fun moments for the family to enjoy together, even if it couldn't help constantly bringing up, and referencing, the first film, which I found kind of distracting. And while plot points, such as the divorce of the boys parents, was maybe unnecessary, the fight between the T-Rex and the Indominus Rex, with the fan favourite raptors, was the highlight of this film.

So as Jurassic World comes out today, there is more than enough options for you to buy. The usual options are out, along with the 3D version and a steelbook one, and of course there is the special edition. Available only through Amazon, the special edition features the Indominus Rex and T-Rex as statuettes about to bite each others jaws off. At a sweet £69.99, this is for the fans only, or maybe a Christmas present for that special someone you overheard saying they like the film. Lets hope they don't leave it in the box collecting dust.
