Trailer roundup: hateful edition

After a troubled production, Quentin Tarantino's eighth film The Hateful Eight has finally got a trailer out. With some of Tarantino's favourite actors, like Samual L. Jackson, James Marsden and Tim Roth making up the essemble, we see a bit of an insular story in this film, where a blizzard has stranded some bounty hunters, and paranoia soon gets the better of them. Though many of us are unlikely to see it in it's 70mm glory, we can look forward to it in cinema's 8th January.

Bryan Cranston can seemingly do no wrong lately, and the trailer for his latest film Trumbo suggest that he isn't going to slow down yet. A biopic of famed Hollywood scriptwriter Dalton Trumbo, who refused to say anything during Senator McCarthy's Communist witch hunt, includes not only Cranston in it's cast, but also Helen Mirren and John Goodman (weilding a baseball bat). As Hollywood loves films about it's self, Trumbo may stand wth a very good chance of winning some Oscars. Released 22nd January in the UK.

Released 60 years after the untimely death of James Dean, Life gives us the story behind the iconic photo's taken by Dennis Stock for Life magazine. With Robert Pattinson as Stock and Dane DeHaan as Dean, I feel like it might be hard to remove these actors from their previous roles (especially DeHaan, as James Dean's likeness is incredibly famous). However, director Anton Corbijn's Control, a biopic of Joy Division front man Ian Curtis was very well made, so I have high hopes for this one. Released 25th September.
