Frank West hitting the big screen

So there turning another video game into a live action film, this time Capcom's Dead Rising is getting the overhaul. Zach Lipovsky is set to direct, with only the apparently dreadful Leprechaun: Origins as his only feature length film. So on that front it's not a great start but at least it's not Uwe Boll.

Set to star in the film is Dennis Haysbert coming of the disappointing Sin City sequel, but he did put in a good performance as Manute taking over from the late Michael Clarke Duncan. The most interesting prospect is Rob Riggle playing the lead character Frank West. Riggle's been in great form recently standing out in the Jump Street films and being the best part of Dumb and Dumber To. Other then these two the rest of the cast I haven't heard of, but as there mostly just gonna be survivors and zombies I don't see how that matter's.

Hopefully the story won't shift to far from the game with Frank West having to survive the zombie apocalypse in a massive super market. Not original but with Frank going out to record the events and find other survivors, also along the way he has to deal with the crazy survivors out for them self's.

I gotta say even with an untested director this film could break the trend of poor film adaptions from video games. And I for one hope so. Due out in 27th of March we don't have to wait that long to find out. Richee
