DVD round up - Dall Buyers Club, Sleeping Beauty, Lone Survivor and Cuban Fury edition

poster designed by the people at Mondo

Dallas Buyers Club, a film based on the true story of a man infected with AIDs who took unlicensed drugs from Mexico and sold them to other HIV-positive people in America, won many awards, but was slightly underwhelming in its delivery. Still, a very solid performance from Matthew McConaughay and Jared Leto. Listen to our review of it in the player below.

Disney, with the release of Maleficent in cinema's, thought it wise to re-release the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. Don't worry if you think watching this will ruin Maleficent for you; as you'll see in my review of it, they completely change the storyline anyway. Read it here.

Another film based on a true story, Lone Survivor is quite graphic in its depiction of the pain these soldiers went though. My main gripe with it is that it is very forceful in its depiction of emotion. Basically, I want to come to my own conclusion that these men where brave, not have it forced down my throat. Ah, a feel good film without all the sappiness. With the legend that is Nick Frost, as well as great cast that also includes Chris O'Dowd and Rashida Jones, this is a perfect film to sit back and enjoy. Listen to our full review below.
