HALLOWEEN HORROR: Dracula and Phantom of the Opera - podcast review out now

In this episode of our Halloween Horror podcast, we look back at two of Universal's most (kind of) romantic characters, Tod Browning's 1931 classic Dracula and Arthur Lubin's 1943 version of Phantom of the Opera. Starring Claude Rains as the suffering violinist, we witness his reign of terror in the Paris Opera House in this sumptuous technicolor retelling of the iconic 1925 Lon Chaney Sr. version, and we also discuss the possible ways Universal could integrate the Phantom into their cinematic universe. Next we have the irrepressible Bela Lugosi as the iconic Count Dracula, who leaves a trail of death on his way to London, and we wonder who could possibly take on the role of this infamous vampire.
