Shenmue 3 on Kickstarter

Another day another reason to pledge on Kickstarter. This time round it's the third instalment of Shenmue, coming to PC and PS4. They made their target on their first day, which shows how much the community wants this to happen.

The first Shenmue was released in 1999 on the Dreamcast and was the biggest reason to own the console. Unfortunately, the Dreamcast was past it before the game came out. If it would have come out sooner the console may have been a success. The sequel came out in 2001 as an Xbox exclusive, which was a shame as I'm a massive PlayStation fan. I only played the game when the console was dirt cheap and I already had a PS3, so only played the game a few times before unfortunately putting my Xbox away with my other past consoles.

The games were a combination of fighting and quick time events. You play as Ryo, a young man who's father is killed in front of him. He then goes on a quest to find the killer. My favourite part of the game was the collectibles, with miniature figures to collect, plus going to the arcade for some Space Harrier action. Also, you can get a job driving a forklift which you can then race with. It was awesome.

So if you were a fan of Shenmue you can pledge $29 and get a copy of the game to download when it is released. This may end up benefiting PS4 owners, as I doubt the game will be any cheaper then this anyway. So here's the link if you want a copy, get your self pledging to help Ryo have the best third instalment possible.

Now some one go find the makers of Timesplitters so I can get a next gen version which would be freaking amazing. Richee
