Sequel's we don't need 7

So it's been a while since a film company announced a ridiculous idea for a sequel, but we all knew it wouldn't take them long to try make some more money out of a franchise that doesn't need it.

The Goonies 2 - I let out a big sigh when I realised there would be a sequel to this classic kids film. Made in 1986 the film followed Mikey (Sean Astin) as he tried to find One Eyed Willy's treasure, having to survive the booby traps him and his pals also had to dodge the Fratelli family who are in hot pursuit. The sequel is rumoured to star the original casts now with kids who go on an adventure. Richard Donner and Steven Spielberg are on board but I can't see any thing good coming out of the franchise. It is such a brilliant film where everything worked out at the end. I don't know what you could introduce for a sequel unless it's a rehash of the originals plot. With  the exception to Sean Astin and Josh Brolin I'm not sure how many of the other cast carried on acting. I know Jeff Cohen who played Chunk didn't really go on to anything else movie wise. Jonathan Ke Quan went into special effects I believe, and we all know Corey Feldmans didn't live up to the high expectation. I suppose if done right it could be watchable but it will never live up to the original. Richee

Goonies never say die.
